Remember my post from a few weeks ago where I was talking about my Dermink Skin Camouflage treatment? Well I was supposed to post weeks 3-6 post treatment last week but due to being a bit poorly, I wasn’t able to so apologies for being a tad late!
Let’s get down to it shall we?
In the past three weeks, I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t a bit anxious about the state of my skin. Although the marks have been getting a bit lighter, I couldn’t really see that big of a difference from weeks two and three. I had been exfoliating and moisturising my skin as normal, but it more or less remained the same; dark and angry looking.
Two weeks ago, Theresa emailed me to ask how I was getting on with the treatment and I told her my concerns regarding the healing of the skin. Theresa told me that my skin is quite sensitive and prone to paradoxial hyper-pigmenting and that it would take a few more weeks to lighten up; because my ski pigments more than average, the results should be a lot better when it finally clears. Good news! As my haert beat returned to normal, I started to notice during week 5 that out of nowhere, the marks had lightened considerably, which is a good sign.
Week 4, 5 and 6. (taken with flash)
As you can see above, week 6 looks a LOT lighter that week 3. Although all photos where taken with flash so they will look lighter. The marks are still quite dark and visible in normal light, but compared to seeing them very clearly from a long way away, it’s now a bit more vague when standing from a distance (according to my Mum). I’m very happy with the healing and I am still exfoliating away and moisturising my skin. I think I will need to do a third update – maybe a 12 week one?
