FESTIVAL STYLE | The Bandeau Dress by Curvissa
*STOP THE PRESS* I have never owned a bandeau dress.
Infact, I have never owned a ‘bandeau’ anything; when you’re lugging around jugs such as mine, it’s kinda hard to find a strapless bra to accommodate the melon-age, so I’ve always just gone without. The Oli Draped Bandeau Dress
however, seems to be slowly winning me over.
I do love a good maxi dress as they are so easy to dress up and down; in this instance I decided to team the dress with a pair of Converse hi-tops, a backback from Primark, an older biker jacket from New Look and an old floral crown from Urban Outfitters to create a bit of a boho-festival vibe.
The dress itself is lovely; I was worried that the lack of straps would mean my bra would constantly be on show, however it seems to hold up on it’s own very well. The dress is true to size and skims nicely over my tummy, reducing the VBL. RESULT! I’m not the biggest fan of having my arms out so I will mostly pair this with a bolero or jacket when I’m out, which I think looks pretty good.
Length wise, it is pretty long considering I’m 5’7 and that my legs are a lot longer than my body. Keep that in mind if you’re looking to get this. Personally, I don’t mind as I find it hard to get maxi dresses that fit me all the way down anyway so the length is perfect for me! The material is very light and non-restrictive which is great as the last thing you need this summer are your clothes sticking to your thighs; not a good look!
*btw i hope you guys don’t mind the sepia tone of these photos, I wanted a 70s *coachella* type mood and started experimenting with the lighting!*
I’d give this dress a solid 5/5. The length and material is perfect for me, and I find it extremely flattering.
