The Quest.

I'm on a quest guys.

A couple years ago (I believe it was 2009), MAC released their 'Hello Kitty' collection. Within this collection, there was a lipstick named "Most Popular". MY lipstick.

I can't even begin to explain to you the ways in which this lipstick was perfect for me. The colour, the texture, the moisture, OMG! I could wear it day and night and all round, it was just an extraordinary lipstick. My FAVOURITE.

Until I lost it while moving back home from my shared house. =( *insert 200 violins and cut to me staring out of a window all morose-like*

It was a limited edition lipstick and so now i'm really at a loss. I have been looking for dupes for the past......18 months? But to no avail..and I really need your help!

WANTED: MAC 'MOST POPULAR' LIPSTICK OR NEAREST DUPE.

REWARD: A SMALL BAG OF GOODIES I WILL RUSTLE UP.

What do you guys think? Have you seen this dupe?!

My New Youtube Page :)

So I've finally done it.

I've been thinking about making a vlog for a VERY long time now, but up until now i've been far too scared/insecure to do one, but today I thought "F**k it" and made one!

I would be ever so grateful if you guys could check out my channel and subscribe! I'm new to all of this so I come across a bit reserved and shy/awkward at first...for NOW anyway lol it won't stay like that for long though!

Thank you so much!

Kandee Girl!

About a month ago, I was at a family event and one of my cousins was wearing a FABULOUS pair of 5 inch leopard print booties. Because of all the hulabaloo during the event, I couldn't ask her where she got them and I truely couldn't stop thinking about them.
Last week I contacted her on Whatsapp (which I hate. I wish iPhones had BBM LOL) and she told me that her shoes were from an amazing newish online store called Kandee Shoes!

the shoes i'm talking about!
Since I discovered this brand, i've become obsessed! To put simply, their shoes are AMAZEBALLS. Kandee shoes launched in 2010 and since then, their shoes have adorned the feet of celebs such as Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham and Rihanna. What I love about the brand is that they look extremely expensive and high fashion, yet with a high street price. Sure, with some of the shoes you may have to save up for about a month or so, but it'll be so worth it.

I'm currently saving up for a couple of their shoes at the moment! Here are some of my faves:

Space Sherbert Bootie

Jezebel Bootie

Liqourice Allsole

Peanut Crunch Shoe

Alreet Lasses?!

...Which translates "Are you alright ladies?" In Geordie slang. :)
Last week I took a mini break up to Newcastle to spend some time with my family. I had an amazing time yet had virtually NO signal which is why I haven't updated for a few days. I hope everyone is well and I will be posting some new things this week! In the meantime, here are a few photos of us up North. :D

New Skincare regime: Elemis FreshSkin range

Luxury British Spa and skincare brand Elemis have recently released a new range of skincare products primarily aimed towards teenagers to mid-20s called 'FreshSkin'!

The range consists of nine products including; a gentle face wash, an exfoliating facial wash, day and night facial moisturisers, and eye gel, six face masks and cleansing wipes. There is also a whole host of key natural ingredients, including:
  • Aloe Vera
  • Apple extract
  • Elderflower extract
  • Lavender oil
  • Seaweed extract
  • Sweet almond oil
I have been offered the chance to try and review the products by the lovely Yinka from VexInTheCity and I was double chuffed when I saw how many natural ingredients were included as I tend to stay away from chemical-based products!

I have been using the products for about 10 days now and so far so good, however, I will be giving a FULL review over at www.vexinthecity.com within the next month so don't forget to check it out!

A note on bullying...

I'm breaking away from the usual topics today just to discuss an age old yet major issue that still pollutes our societies today. Bullying.
I would recommend that you watch the video above by fellow blogger/vlogger Shirley before reading.
I came across Shirley's video this evening and the various issues regarding bullying and hating really touched me and got me a little emotional. It is hard (especially for us girls) to talk about bullying because we feel as if we should not let others' carry our burdens, but bullying is still a major issue and as Shirley notes, more and more people are taking their lives over incidents that could have been avoided had they spoken up about it.

However suicide is not the only consequence of bullying. There is also the internal/emotional damage caused by bullying, whether physical, cyber or through hurtful words and this is what makes me so angry because NO ONE should ever be made to feel as if they are not good enough.

When I was in Secondary school, I was bullied from year 7 (7th grade) to year 11 (11th grade) without fail and it was terrible. I was only picked on by the boys and I was beat up a lot which left me with several broken bones over the years and there were more serious occurences where I had acid thrown on me in Science which burned into my neck and I was pushed from a balcony which resulted in 2 of my vertabrae being broken. I became clinically depressed and self harmed for a while and this was all because I did not tell anybody. I could not speak to a councillor, the teachers or my parents because I did not want them to worry about me. As a result of the bullying, to this day I still suffer from low/no self esteem and virtually no confidence, but I try and take it one day at a time.

This is by no means a "woe is me" story. Stories like Shirley's and mine should be shared to encourouge others to talk about what they are currently going though. If you have younger relatives, please please please let them know that you are and will always be there to talk to them if anything is wrong and most of all, never let anyone make you feel less worthy or less beautiful than everyone else. If we all looked and weighed the same, the world would be a pretty boring place right?

Bask in your uniqueness!

P.S. I'd love to hear you guys' thoughts/stories on this subject!

Birthday Wish List!

*exasperated sigh*
In less than a month, I will be turning 22! *waves a random flag". I'm actually looking forward to this birthday for some reason; i'll be a 'Proper' adult ^_^ and so I thought i'd blog a few things that I would love for my birthday, not for any particular reason, but a girl can dream can't she? Haha!

Canon 50mm Lens

A Waterstones gift card.

Batman Graphic novels

 Jimmy Choo Eau De Parfum

That's about it really? As I get older, my wishlist gets more and more dull haha. :D

Summertime is a'comin...

And that can only mean one thing...

Getting your legs out!

As the weather changes, so does our skin, so around this time a lot of people may notice that their skin becomes either extra oily, dry or blotchy and so it is imperative that you have the right componants to combat this, depending on your skin type.
I have dry skin, so I mainly use a lot of shea and coconut butter, along with avacado oil and vitamin E as they are uber-moisturising. I also want to get into wearing shorts and skirts this summer so i've been exfoliating like crazy!

My summertime leg kit:
Soap & Glory 'Flake Away' - £4.59 from Boots

Flake Away is a thigh and leg scrub which contains shea butter, sugar, peach seed power, sea salt and almond oils and I use it with an exfoliation brush in the bath. The beads are rather course, but not course enough to rub your skin raw. It smells lovely and it always leaves my skin feeling uber soft.
Soap & Glory's 'Slimwear' Peptide Balm - £6.00

I've never really used firming creams before as I try not to feed into the 'hype' , however I thought I would try this out just to see. I've been using it for about a week now and I am kind of seeing a little bit of a difference. The balm is very minty and has quite a thin consistency so I normally put this on first, then seal it in with some coconut oil. I will provide a more thorough review after continued use.

Coconut Butter by The Body Shop - £12

Since the weather is getting warmer, I've decided to switch moisturisers. Normally, I used my DIY Shea butter with coconut oil and sweet almon oil mix, however, it is quite heavy and so i've switched to a more lighter cream. The coconut butter smells amazing and it really seeps into my skin wonderfully, making for lovely, supple skin.
How are you preparing for summer??
