E.L.F SPF 20 Tinted Moisturiser...Umm..

To be honest, I've never really understood the concept of a 'tinted moisturiser'. Is it a foundation? Is a face cream? So after finding out that E.L.F have released a new tinte moisturiser, I thought I'd take a look-see as at £3.50, i'm not taking that much of a risk.
It arrived the next day and this is what it looks like:

I purchased 'expresso' which is supposed to be for people 'with dark skin with yellow and red undertones'- sounded about right for me because my face has red undertones. So the package arrives, I swatch it on my hand and...
Umm...Is it just me, or does this look at least 2 shades lighter than my skin? I will give this is the benefit of the doubt as my wrist has yellow undertones and will reserve judgement until I use it on my face. Although I'm feeling kinda apprehensive in regards to putting this all over my face. =/
(you can definately see where i've blended it in. Hmm)

I shall reserve judgement until its on my face. For now, i'll give it a C-

Has anyone else tried this?

I love...Vanilla Treacle with Strawberries & Milkshake! :)

I've heard a lot about TreacleMoon and I Love... products before so while I was out, I decided to pop into Superdrug to pick up a couple of items. From the TreacleMoon line I picked up 'That Vanilla Moment' and from I Love..." I picked up 'Strawberries and Milkshake'.

I honestly thought that these were from the same brand as they seem so identical; from the sugery sweet flavours and friendly descriptions right down to the fonts.
£3.00 from Superdrug and Tesco

This smells absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It's not your normal sickly sweet, overbearing vanilla, it's more subtle and the smell lasts for quite some time after. For £3.00, you get 500ml of product which I think is good value for money. The packaging is really cute and the brilliant thing is, you don't need a lot of product to have an enjoyable bubblebath! 5/5

£2.55 from Superdrug

I Love...Strawberries and Milkshake also smells wonderful; not too strong which I liked. It's marketed as being an exfoliator, but I would say it's more of a shower creame as the beads were extremely fine and afterwards, I didn't really feel..."exfoliated" lol!. HOWEVER...this foams like a dream! Again, you only need a small amount and the price is very reasonable. Although I prefer my shower scrubs to pack a bit more "oompth"..this will do as a nice treat, so i'll give it 3/5.

Has anybody else used these products?

A Word on Beauty/Fashion Bloggery

Ok, so I've been meaning to write this post for a couple of days now, but I couldn't find the time so it's good that I can finally do it now. As a lot of people know, Fashion Week has recently passed and it is this event that has spurned me into writing this post.

Without launching into the full story, last week a popular beauty & fashion blogger/vlogger who I know (and will not name) asked for someone to accompany them to the MAC event during fashion week. I offered as I had never been to an 'Industry event' before and a couple of days later, I recieved a message from them telling me that they were seeking "prominant bloggers" and people who have over a certain amount of followers on their blog. Seeing as my follower count is "below" average,  I would not be invited to the event.

Really?

Up until this month I never realised that there was some sort of....undercover hiararchy within the beauty blogger circuit. I'm well aware of the different cliques within the group, as you kinda see the same groups of people in photographs, however, to alienate someone because they aren't as popular is just plain snobby.

Blogging isn't a competition.

The whole point of blogging is to share your interests and passions with others. People should blog because they love it, not because they want to recieve free products and be invited to industry events.

It isn't about who can attain the most blog hits and followers; followers do not necessarily mean that your blog is any good. A lot of the time, I've found that people only follow blogs because the blogger is pretty- there's nothing wrong in doing that, but it's a shame to think that some people out there put themselves above lesser known bloggers because they get invited to events and are sent free things.

There's space for everyone; It shouldn't be some sort of ratrace as to who is the most popular! It's starting to feel a bit "mean girl"ish and we don't want that. Can we just share our beauty tips, tricks, hauls and tutorials in peace?

Good Old London Town. :)

“You find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”
